A clear institutional direction.
AEES is led from France and administered as an international academic institution. The board sets direction, budget and policy. It appoints those who review technical files and ensures that every decision leaves a record: who reviewed, who decided, and under what conditions.
This organisation separates institutional direction, academic advice and, when a decision is challenged, reconsideration. Minutes record decisions, reservations and recusals. Traceability is not a formality: it makes the Academy readable to its partners and to the public.

Approvals, audits and monitoring of institutions authorised to teach an AEES scope.

Papers, mark schemes, moderation and the conditions under which assessments are held.

The academic council.
The academic council directs the Academy’s academic work. It advises on programme frameworks, the coherence of learning outcomes, assessment rules and integrity questions. It does not administer and does not award qualifications: it informs the institution’s choices.
Profiles sought come from higher education, research and professions related to the fields taught. Review considers experience, expected contribution and the declaration of interests. A person with an interest in a matter takes no part in the advice on it.

Independence of decisions.
Anyone asked to review an institution, programme, assessment or appeal declares relevant professional, financial or personal links. An interest capable of impairing impartiality requires recusal. The recusal, and the replacement reviewer’s identity, are retained on file.
This rule applies in particular to the relationship with GROUPE UNIVGA, the first partner institution. AEES designs the framework and issues its awards; UNIVGA teaches and supports students. Approval decisions concerning it are taken by an independent panel. Two legal entities, two responsibilities — the same requirement of impartiality.
