Version 2026.1 organises review around nine domains. For each one, the institution describes its practice, identifies a responsible person and provides dated material allowing implementation to be verified.
- Governance: legal identity, local authorisations, responsibilities, decisions and conflicts of interest.
- Teaching resources: qualifications, experience, workload, recruitment and staff development.
- Programme design: aims, admission, progression, content and alignment of assessment.
- Assessment integrity: identity, security, marking, moderation, boards and retention of records.
- Student information: award status, fees, timetable, rules, support and appeals.
- Data protection: limited collection, authorised access, retention and incident handling.
- Learning environment: premises, equipment or distance arrangements suited to cohort size and activities.
- AEES mark: use limited to the approved scope and accurate communication about recognition.
- Continuous improvement: defined indicators, analysed feedback, assigned actions and monitored deadlines.
Assessment of evidence
A written policy is insufficient if its application cannot be demonstrated. Evidence may include minutes, staff records, programme materials, assessment samples, incident logs, information given to students and action plans. Its nature is adapted to the centre’s size and delivery mode.
