Complaints and appeals

Internal routes, independent of the teaching institution.

A complaint reports a service or procedural problem. An appeal requests reconsideration of an academic or institutional decision. Identifying the correct route avoids delay.

Whom to contact

Matters relating to teaching, support, timetables or local services are first addressed to the centre concerned. AEES may be contacted about a board or award decision, application of its assessment rules, use of its mark or a breach falling within approval.

What to include

A request sent to recours@aees-edu.eu should state the requester’s identity, programme and centre, the decision or facts challenged, steps already taken and the outcome sought. Relevant documents should be attached; only data necessary for handling the matter should be sent.

Review and outcome

Admissibility and AEES jurisdiction are checked first. The person or body reviewing an appeal must not have made the original decision. The outcome may confirm, vary or set aside the decision, or remit the matter for reconsideration. The response gives reasons and is retained on file.

An appeal is not suspensive unless otherwise decided. This internal route does not prevent exercise of rights available under law or through competent authorities.
