Social dialogue and workplace relations
A vague familiarity with “Social dialogue and workplace relations” is no longer enough. This belongs with People, brand and influence. You hold talent, labour dialogue, a crisis, the commercial line or a customer. People are hired to decide, not just to name the topic. This AEES certification is for professionals, managers and leaders who want to hold a body, judge a collective conflict and decide without exposing the organisation. No diploma is required. What is required is a working command of written French, and the will to show the subject on a real file, in a company, a public body or a partner organisation.
You are not joining a long degree. You take “Social dialogue and workplace relations” seriously enough to use it, and seriously enough for someone else to read it on a file. Everything happens online, around a job you already have. You prepare if you need to, then you sit a professional assessment. The AEES Executive Certificate, if it is issued, is proof in your name, and it can be checked. It holds in a CV, a move or a cooperation. It is a short specialisation, issued by a higher-education institution. You see at once what you are buying: a targeted title, not a course catalogue.
Afterwards you can carry “Social dialogue and workplace relations” into a team, a file or a new responsibility, and explain your choices to a manager, a funder or a partner institution. Others will see that you can hold a body, judge a collective conflict and decide without exposing the organisation, including outside your own organisation. If you succeed, AEES issues an AEES Executive Certificate in your name, with a unique serial number that can be checked in the public register. The award stays in your workspace. It shows a professional judgement you have demonstrated, useful for a CV, a new post or work in common.

To prepare for the assessment
After purchase, a preparatory course is available: 6 written modules, without an instructor, at your own pace. You are not required to follow it before opening the assessment. Each module sets out the notions, a commented case, the points to keep and a FAQ. It covers Frame, Body, Conflict and Measure.
When you are ready, you enter the assessment: a file already open, incomplete facts, conflicting views. You move through successive decisions. This is not a full taught programme with pedagogical supervision.
Notions, objectives and concrete examples, organised progressively.
A commented professional situation to anchor the theory.
Frequent doubts, then questions to go further on your own.
- Module 1: Frame Before you speak on behalf of the organisation, you need a frame. The frame is the set of legal rights, duties, and formal bodies that govern who can speak, on what subjects, and with which procedures. Without it, even a good message can create legal exposure or escalate a conflict you did not intend to start. This module gives you a practical way to map your obligations, identify the legitimate counterparts, and prepare meetings that respect the law. You will learn what must be informed, what must be consulted, what can be negotiated, and how confidentiality and data protection intersect with workplace relations.
- Module 2, Body: Running a decision-capable joint body In social dialogue, a meeting is not a conversation. It is a formal act that creates effects: rights to be exercised, decisions to be implemented, and records that will be read later by people who were not in the room. This module helps you run a body that meets its legal and organisational purpose. You will learn to translate complex issues into a structured agenda, secure a valid process, and leave each session with decisions that stand. Your role is to hold the body. That means ensuring the right people are convened, the mandate is respected, the information is timely and sufficient, and the procedure is clean. It also means preventing avoidance behaviours. The body is not a theatre where positions are performed without consequence. It is a place where information, consultation, and decision are sequenced with discipline. The skills you build here protect the organisation, respect representatives, and create value through predictable, transparent outcomes.
- Module 3: Conflict - Read a Strike or a Blockage as a Case File Collective conflict is not a mood to fight or to appease. It is a set of facts, actors, mandates, and constraints that can be read, written, challenged, and closed. The skill is to convert agitation into a file quickly. When you do this, you stop overreacting to noise and start working on evidence, options, and consequences. Strikes and blockages then become cases you can progress, not storms you must endure. This module gives you a method you can apply in the first hour of a strike or a blockage. You will learn to map the conflict, isolate facts from allegations, record what is said, and test options against clear decision criteria. You will engage with the law before you speak, so you do not set unforced precedents. You will keep your ability to decide without exposing the organisation.
- Module 4, Measure: deciding a sanction or an agreement without improvising Measure is the moment you stop reacting and start deciding. In workplace relations, your choice to sanction a behavior or to sign an agreement will be judged for its legality, its proportionality, and its impact on the climate of trust. You need a way to move from facts to a decision that stands, even when contested. This module gives you a compact discipline: what to measure, how to weigh options, when to consult, and how to document. You will learn to run a fact-led process that protects the organization while staying open to dialogue. The same method applies whether you consider a written warning or the terms of a shift-change agreement.
- Module 5/6, End of relation This module gives you a method to end an employment relationship or to close a collective agreement without losing control of the process. You will learn how to define the legal and organisational ground for exit, map the stakeholders and obligations, and hold the sequence from first assessment to final payment and records closure. Endings are operational moments with high stakes. They test your ability to balance due process, human dignity, business needs, and compliance across jurisdictions. You will practice a structured approach that turns vague options into a concrete path: diagnose the situation, select the route, plan the timeline, consult when required, decide, notify, and execute. At each step you will know what to document and why.
- Module 6, Trace: Writing What Was Said, So It Holds Tomorrow In social dialogue, memory fades and opinions shift. What endures is the trace. A clear written record of what was said, decided and left open makes the difference between progress and a loop of misunderstandings. This module shows you how to build that record so it helps the people who need it tomorrow, not just the ones who were in the room today. You are not writing literature. You are producing a controlled document with a purpose. It must be accurate, concise, neutral, and usable. It must be checked, versioned and stored. It must protect confidential elements while leaving enough detail for accountability. The right trace reduces conflict and legal risk, supports implementation and keeps negotiations on track.
