Team leadership and engagement
A vague familiarity with “Team leadership and engagement” is no longer enough. This belongs with People, brand and influence. You hold talent, labour dialogue, a crisis, the commercial line or a customer. People are hired to decide, not just to name the topic. This AEES certification is for professionals, managers and leaders who want to set a team course, hold useful conflict and decide who stays. No diploma is required. What is required is a working command of written French, and the will to show the subject on a real file, in a company, a public body or a partner organisation.
You are not joining a long degree. You take “Team leadership and engagement” seriously enough to use it, and seriously enough for someone else to read it on a file. Everything happens online, around a job you already have. You prepare if you need to, then you sit a professional assessment. The AEES Executive Certificate, if it is issued, is proof in your name, and it can be checked. It holds in a CV, a move or a cooperation. It is a short specialisation, issued by a higher-education institution. You see at once what you are buying: a targeted title, not a course catalogue.
Afterwards you can carry “Team leadership and engagement” into a team, a file or a new responsibility, and explain your choices to a manager, a funder or a partner institution. Others will see that you can set a team course, hold useful conflict and decide who stays, including outside your own organisation. If you succeed, AEES issues an AEES Executive Certificate in your name, with a unique serial number that can be checked in the public register. The award stays in your workspace. It shows a professional judgement you have demonstrated, useful for a CV, a new post or work in common.

To prepare for the assessment
After purchase, a preparatory course is available: 6 written modules, without an instructor, at your own pace. You are not required to follow it before opening the assessment. Each module sets out the notions, a commented case, the points to keep and a FAQ. It covers Course, Roles, Feedback and Conflict.
When you are ready, you enter the assessment: a file already open, incomplete facts, conflicting views. You move through successive decisions. This is not a full taught programme with pedagogical supervision.
Notions, objectives and concrete examples, organised progressively.
A commented professional situation to anchor the theory.
Frequent doubts, then questions to go further on your own.
- Module 1, Set the Team Course for the Quarter Teams move faster when they know the destination. This module shows you how to translate strategy into a concrete quarterly outcome, with measures that people can use week to week. You will write a plain one-sentence course for the quarter, define a small set of key results, set milestones, and make the trade-offs that keep your team focused. The aim is not a long plan. It is a clear decision about what must be true in 90 days, communicated in language your team and partners can act on. Quarterly focus is long enough to deliver outcomes and short enough to correct course. It matches a cadence most organizations already use for planning and reviews. Research on goal setting shows that specific and challenging goals, with feedback, improve performance. You will apply that insight in a pragmatic way: define an outcome the team can control, pick a few measures that predict success, and create a rhythm of check-ins that keeps learning and delivery tied together.
- AEES Executive Certificate in Team Leadership and Engagement · Module 2: Roles. Allocate without leaving "everyone" accountable Teams stall when tasks float and decisions linger because they belong to "everyone." The intent is good. People want to help. Yet without named accountability, energy diffuses, issues surface late and rework multiplies. This module turns vague ownership into clear roles that move work forward. You will learn the minimum structure that keeps speed and engagement without heavy bureaucracy. A role is not a job title. It is a promise to deliver a specific outcome, with known decision rights, interfaces and constraints. One person may hold several roles. One role may pass from person to person over time. The key is clarity. When the team knows who is accountable and who is involved, disagreements surface earlier and are easier to resolve.
- Module 3: Feedback Feedback is how you keep the team on course between formal reviews. It is a short, specific exchange that names what happened, why it matters, and what good looks like next. When you strip out blame and posture and focus on facts and standards, people can improve quickly without losing face. As a leader, your task is to make feedback routine, not dramatic. That means you prepare standards upfront, you notice concrete behaviors, and you deliver the message at the right time and place. It also means you are ready to listen, ask for the other side of the story, and agree on a next step you can both check later.
- Module 4/6, Conflict: Hold Useful Conflict and Surface Disagreement Early Working teams do not fail because people disagree. They fail because the right disagreements never reach the table in time, or because once they do, leaders cannot hold them safely and usefully. This module gives you a clear way to map a conflict, decide if and when to bring it to the table, and run a focused conversation that delivers decisions without collateral damage. You will learn to separate task conflict from relationship conflict, prepare a discussion with facts and interests, facilitate turn-taking and testing of assumptions, and set boundaries that prevent escalation. You will also learn when to pause, when to escalate, how to document agreements, and how to repair trust after a hard discussion.
- Module 5, Load: See who holds, who saturates, who pretends Teams break not only on strategy and skill, but on load. As a manager you have to see what work is flowing, how it piles up, and who is carrying it. If you misread load you reward heroics, miss risk, and burn out the few who hold the system together. This module makes load visible enough for you to act fast and fairly. You will learn a lightweight way to baseline load without turning into surveillance, the signals that show saturation or pretending, and the interventions that restore flow. The aim is not to squeeze more hours. The aim is to keep promises by matching demand, capacity, and priority, then decide what to stop or change when they do not match.
- Hold decision: Keep, recast or separate This module is about making and holding a consequential people decision. By now you have clarified the team course, sharpened roles, built feedback habits, handled conflict, and managed load. You have enough signal to judge whether each person fits the mission today and tomorrow. Your job is to turn that signal into a clear path: keep, recast, or separate. There is no perfect decision. There is a better and worse way to reach and stand by one. Better means evidence over opinion, principle over anxiety, and process over improvisation. It means you take into account performance, values, potential, risk, legal constraints, and human dignity. Then you decide and follow through without drift.
